The Great Divide of the Year 2020

There is this proverb, supposedly Chinese, a curse actually. It says ‘May you live in interesting times.’ The ‘interesting times’ refer to the times of trouble. Whether Chinese or not, it conveys the view of world around us. And very well reflects on life in the United States of America in the year 2020.

We live in the times of trouble. What we knew for generations as a stable, reliable, predictable societal model, is falling apart in front of our own eyes. We are still here, but the expectations of the future have become fuzzy. Few people dare to say what awaits us few years from now.

It is as if a rock from outer space crashed among us. To-date, it wiped out close to a million people, shut down state borders, pushed people underground (figuratively speaking), broke economic ties and shuttered thousands of businesses, large and small. It caused social upheaval not related to the impact, but rather something that was waiting to happen, like a volcano explosion that needed a small push. The society we live in went into a turmoil. Part of it demands privileges we could have hardly imagined few short years ago.  The other part is on edge, holding onto their esteemed values. And guns. In the minds of many guns have become their insurance policies. You can’t cash them in yet, but they would come awfully handy when the proverbial substance hits the fan.

What Can We Do?

I’m no politician. I don’t know every trick in the book. Yet you got to start someplace. Here’s my version. Look at these ideas with a critical eye. Add your own thoughts as you go.

Remember the Oath of Allegiance? The part where “I do solemnly swear that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic”. Well, now is the time when these important words transform themselves from being ceremonial to being practical. The enemy is here. Yet before we select the methods of defense, we must carefully evaluate what are up against. At this point of time, we have an opportunity to defeat them within law, by openly denouncing their rotten ideology. Raise your voices

The Accomplices

Since the BLM movement became a daily staple of the American MSM and the darling of the social networks, it has gained support of a good number of US corporations, both large and small.

Curious as to who they are? The list can be found here – https://conservativefiringline.com/list-of-269-companies-supporting-antifa-black-lives-matter/. It was compiled by a third party. I’m certain there are other companies that are not on the list. Regretfully, it reads as ‘Who is who of American business’. You know them.

These are the companies that decided to support BLM with money, hiring practices, publicity. For reasons I can hardly fathom, they jumped, head over heels, into clutching BLM and Co., to their collective corporate bosom, as if it was their long-lost child and they have just been reunited. I don’t quite get it. Why? What was so attractive? Were the giants of corporate wisdom waiting for the moment with baited breath? Can the dirty capitalists be so enamored with the destructive communist ideas BLM & Co. brings? No one can tell for sure.

A Very Different Race to the Bottom

In the normal world a ‘Race to the Bottom’ is an expression speaking of deregulation of the business environment and lowering the labor costs. Our race to the bottom is different, so read on.

Any single group of people putting themselves above the rest of society becomes racist.

Can you guess what I’m talking about? If you figured this is about ‘the white population’, you got it wrong. True racism these days lives among the BLM boneheads and their supporters.

They elevated the racial issue among the leftist crowd, positioning themselves as the ‘liberators’. BLM and their brethren must save the blacks of America from the horrors of white oppression, ancestral slavery, general misery and shortage of spending cash.

The Vultures of the Cancel Culture

There is this relatively new phenomenon in the dictionaries, on the American map and on everyone’s screens. It is called the ‘cancel culture’. What, you haven’t heard of it? Several major publications devoted their pages to it recently. It is described as removal “of support for public figures in response to their objectionable behavior or opinions. This can include boycotts or refusal to promote their work.” Others called it “online shaming is a form of public shaming in which targets are publicly humiliated on the internet, via social media platforms, or more localized media … after the public figures and companies have done or said something considered objectionable or offensive.” I decided to chime in. It burns my mind.

About Gastronomic Racism. And More…

Since BLM (as in Bad Looking Muggers) began their marches along our streets, they have scored many small victories. They want to change the world. That requires new revolutionary lingo, habits change and, of course, imbedding themselves in the American culture they so want to see gone. Anything goes here – renaming places and events, reshuffling the dictionary. Gangsta talk is in. Anything white people do or say should be declared racism and must be eradicated by hook or by crook. Mostly by crooks they represent. So what should the ‘vultures of the cancel culture’ turn their beady eyes to?

Anyone going to a fine restaurant to dine on white tablecloth, to eat off white china plates, and use white napkins are committing terrible racial crimes. Drinking white wine should be banned, and so should be Fettuccini Alfredo, béchamel sauce, mozzarella dishes and the white pizza – all terrible reminders of the white domination. “White Russian” cocktail should be expunged from all bars, but the Black Russian should be treasured and ordered whenever possible. By chance, do you know any black Russians who joined the BLM movement?
