Political Correctness. A Gag on America

“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.”

The First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution

These three short lines put to paper back in 1791 define some of the most important pillars of American life. Freedom of speech is one of them. Freedom from the censorship. Freedom from arbitrary gag orders by anyone with authority; imposed upon the people who want to be heard. Freedom to think, to write, to shout, to disagree, to be different, to state the truth no matter how painful it may be.

Volumes have been written about the First Amendment and its implications. Have you read them? Me neither. But we live under its umbrella, without thinking about it too much. Yet in this forlorn era of ‘political correctness’ the might of the freedom of expression becomes less and less obvious. It is being curtailed in the name of dubious protection for the feelings of individuals who might be hurt by your words. Lots of nosey people are seeking out things they declare offensive and threatening to (enter a population group here), just to put themselves on the map. Much like pigs digging in the garbage pile for some tasty morsels.

Anything that can be interpreted as impolite, ironic, cynical, even mildly offensive is considered taboo. Use direct and to the point words or expressions – and your ass is grass. You are an instant enemy of the people, a bad and insensitive person whose post must be taken down amid the screams of our politically correct mobs. If you can be fired, you should be. If you are a business owner, you and your enterprise must be punished. Political correctness demands slowly but surely became the fodder for the ‘cancel culture’, the repulsive child of our times.

It chokes our freedom to not say things exactly the way we want. It is a gag on all of us which didn’t come overnight. It slowly creped in and we didn’t notice. So what if they don’t want us to use this or that word? No big deal. But then a little brook became a flood. A flood of politically correct prohibitions. It is an oppression imposed upon all of us. By people who believe they know what we should be thinking and saying. People you have never met are controlling your mind by implicitly telling you what is appropriate and what is not. Screw that!

Why? Why should we let them do it to us? How can we resist this madness? If someone has gone crazy why should we refer to him or her as ‘mentally handicapped”? Out of politeness he or she may never comprehend? An invalid is a person with a disability of some kind. Many such people don’t think of themselves that way, but when you lost your arm or a leg you still are an invalid, even with the help of modern prosthetic devices. It’s a descriptive term, not an offensive one in my book. Last time I looked it was still a valid word in the English language. These are small examples. Under the First Amendment feel free to disagree.

I was seriously irked by this event, as described in recent article found here, read it – https://www.theblaze.com/news/police-chief-fired-looting-meme. A chief of police, who spent 15 years of his life serving the public in Illinois, was sacked over a meme looters around the country would probably find offensive. His superiors actually took the side of the criminals. They accused him of “…this social media post is in incredibly poor taste. It does not reflect the values of the people of our community, and we will not tolerate such behavior from any of our public officials.” End of quote. Political correctness at it’s worst.

Exactly what sort of community values were the village officials defending? A value to steal, a propensity to loot? Or is it all because the people in the picture are black and cannot be legally criticized? Tell me, I must be missing something here. That social media post is not in poor taste. The elected village elders are out of line, and are highly likely to be racially prejudiced against the white chief of police. He should sue them. My sympathy goes out to Mr. Thomas Scully.

Look at the picture: fat-assed black thieves are awaiting their turn to jump into the store through a broken window, for their share of the loot. So they can later protest life’s injustices. And the text sums it up nicely and correctly. Any one looking would agree – our country supports these low lifes with all sorts of benefits they hardly deserve, but they still want more. Want to accuse me of racism? Well, then first explain what these people are doing at the place being ransacked.

The First Amendment gives us the right to call a thieving asshole just that. Don’t mince words.

A looter is a criminal and the color of his skin matters not. No, we are not polite. But we are right.

We should use the current maelstrom of ‘racial’ accusations as a prop to start the process of liberation from political correctness and its adepts.

They are not polite with you, when they are calling you a racist, a whitey. At this time our culture and our ability to speak freely is under assault by many left-leaning progressive characters. They want to do away with many things. How about doing away with these awful bonds set upon us by the same kind of thinking.

Where truth may not be spoken openly, challenge and get rid of that suffocating atmosphere. 

I think it may actually work. Political correctness goes out the window when they want us out of the picture (as in dead and buried). We, on the other hand, can address them in the language they so amply deserve – and damn the facebook and twitter censors.

Criminals cannot be permitted to take over the United States of America.
